Antivirus
Scan hosted files for malware and review the findings before taking action.
Where to find it: Open the Server menu and choose Antivirus.
Available to: Root only.
Before you start
Security settings can also block legitimate visitors. Start with a narrow rule or monitoring mode where available, then check that normal access still works.
Why use it — and when not to
Use Antivirus to reduce a specific, evidenced risk. Avoid broad blocks, global disables, or permanent exceptions when a monitor mode or narrower rule can solve the same problem.
How to use it
- Choose a scan and the accounts or files it should examine.
- Follow the scan until a result is available.
- Review each finding before choosing an action for its file.
Scan workspace and protection settings
The workspace includes Overview, Accounts, Findings, Scan, History, Exclusions, Quarantine, and Settings. Scan selected accounts or all accounts, follow the active scan, and use history to inspect an earlier report.
Settings control Antivirus enablement, automatic daily scans and their time, scanning threads, maximum file size, and the no-progress timeout. Higher concurrency is not automatically faster on a busy shared host. Maintenance provides Install or repair when the protection runtime needs attention.
Read Antivirus findings and recovery before changing files. Malware and potential vulnerabilities are separate finding types.
