Backup Threshold Limits

Pause backup work when the server is too busy or backup storage is too full.

Where to find it: Sign in as root, open Server > Backup, then choose Backup Threshold Limits.

What this page does

Use this page to define when backup work should pause or refuse to start because the server load or backup partition usage has crossed the provider-approved threshold.

Before you start

Restoring a backup can overwrite newer data. Check the backup date, choose what to restore and make sure there is enough free disk space before starting.

Why use it — and when not to

Use Backup Threshold Limits to create, find, inspect, or recover the documented backup scope. Do not start a restore until the point, target, replacement behavior, and customer approval are clear.

How to use it

1. Review the current server load and backup disk usage.
2. Set the load and storage thresholds appropriate for your server.
3. Save and check whether a paused or rejected backup reports the expected reason.

Load and disk-usage thresholds

The current threshold page controls the Server Load Limit and the backup partition Disk Usage percentage limit. These guard backup work under resource pressure; they do not increase disk capacity or replace retention settings.

Choose limits appropriate to the server and inspect the backup log if work pauses or cannot proceed. Fix capacity or load causes before repeatedly raising thresholds.

Result and next check

Wait for the job to finish and check its final status. After a restore, open the affected website, mailbox or database to confirm it works.
