Edit FTP Account
Change an FTP user's password, home folder or access settings.
Where to find it: Open the account and choose Edit FTP Account.
Available to: The account owner, their reseller or the server administrator. Availability depends on the hosting plan and installed services.
How to use it
- Select the FTP user you want to change.
- Update the password, folder or available access restriction.
- Save and reconnect with the FTP client to check the result.
FTP paths, quotas, and IP policy
An FTP user has its own access path and disk quota. Choose a directory inside the account boundary and verify that it exists and is accessible to that user. A stale directory is not repaired by changing unrelated accounts.
The FTP Access Policy supports inheriting the account default, unrestricted access, the Account IP Access list, or a custom source list. These are FTP controls, not an SSH/SFTP entitlement. Verify a new FTP session from the intended source after changing the policy.
