Backup Logs

Check whether a backup or restore finished and read any reported problems.

Where to find it: Sign in as root, open Server > Backup, then choose Backup Logs.

Available to: Root only.

How to use it

1. Select the backup or restore job you are investigating.
2. Read the latest entries and find the first reported failure.
3. Check the named account, destination or service before retrying the job.

Reading backup and restore outcomes

Choose the specific backup/restore log and inspect its final result, skipped items, and errors. A log file’s existence only proves work was attempted. Preserve relevant logs before deleting them during an investigation.

For a partial result, identify the affected accounts or content category before rerunning work. Verify the destination restore point and a representative restore rather than relying only on the schedule’s enabled state.
