Synconix DNS Manager

Synconix DNS Manager (SDM) is the control plane for authoritative DNS zones, records, DNSSEC, provider synchronization, monitoring, and day-to-day administration.

Where to find it: Documentation > DNS Manager > Synconix DNS Manager.

Available to: Anyone may read this overview. What appears in the panel depends on the signed-in role.

What this page does

This page explains where SDM fits. The product stores and serves authoritative DNS data, can operate as one node or a native multi-node deployment, and gives operators one place to manage local PowerDNS state and the optional Cloudflare provider workflow. The panel, public API, AI Mode, monitoring, backups, and audit history are different ways to work with that same controlled DNS state.

Before you start

Know which server and customer scope you are responsible for, which nameservers the domain currently delegates to, and whether the installation is standalone or clustered. DNS changes can be technically correct and still invisible if delegation points somewhere else.

How to use it

  1. Read Roles and Navigation so you know why a page may or may not be visible.
  2. Open Dashboard and confirm deployment, DNS, license, and monitor state.
  3. Use DNS Zones to find the customer zone and Zone Editor for record work.
  4. Check DNSSEC or Cloudflare only when that feature belongs to the requested change.
  5. Verify the result from an authoritative and, where relevant, public resolver.

Result and next check

You should be able to identify the SDM area that owns a task and the page that proves its outcome. If the issue is still unclear, continue with Troubleshooting and Operations rather than changing unrelated settings.
