DNS Server
Manage the DNS service that answers requests for your hosted domains.
Where to find it: For daily work, use Server > DNS Manager. The advanced DNS configuration editor is not listed in the current Configuration menu.
Available to: Root only.
What this page does
Use Services for DNS installation and DNS Manager for owned zones/records and DNSSEC. The advanced PowerDNS editor exposes Validate & Apply Changes for deliberate server configuration work where the editor is available.
Before you start
Do not replace generated DNS configuration casually. Preserve the current file, confirm the active authoritative service, and understand whether SHM or a cluster owns the zones.

- Identify the authoritative owner of the zone or server setting.
- Use the matching page and review current values.
- For a server configuration edit, validate before applying.
- Verify service status and authoritative answers afterwards.
Result and next check
The intended records or server policy are active. Registrar delegation and recursive caches remain external checks.
