Restore Backup

Recover hosting data from a backup you have selected.

Where to find it: Sign in as root, open Server > Backup, then choose Restore Backup.

Available to: Root only.

Before you start

Restoring a backup can overwrite newer data. Check the backup date, choose what to restore and make sure there is enough free disk space before starting.

Why use it — and when not to

Use Restore Backup to create, find, inspect, or recover the documented backup scope. Do not start a restore until the point, target, replacement behavior, and customer approval are clear.

How to use it

  1. Choose the account, restore point and data to recover.
  2. Review whether existing data will be replaced and keep a current backup if needed.
  3. Start the restore, follow its progress and test the recovered service.

Selective restore and progress

For mail, choose the original mail location or an alternative directory for inspection. For MySQL, distinguish restoring SQL files from importing them into a live owned database. Keep the selected backup point and item list visible in your review, then follow the returned job and log to a terminal result.

See Restore mail and MySQL backups. Aborting a job does not roll back completed writes; verify the destination before retrying a partial restore.

Result and next check

Wait for the job to finish and check its final status. After a restore, open the affected website, mailbox or database to confirm it works.
