Email Filters

Create rules that sort or handle incoming email automatically.

Where to find it: Open the account, choose Email Accounts, then open Email Filters.

Available to: The account owner, their reseller or the server administrator. Availability depends on the hosting plan and installed services.

Before you start

Mail changes affect delivery and sometimes existing client connections. Confirm the exact address or domain, preserve credentials, and use delivery reports or the queue to verify the result.

Why use it — and when not to

Use Email Filters for the selected account or server mail workflow. Use DNS Manager, Services, Mail Queue, or Delivery Reports instead when the problem belongs to delegation, service installation, queued transport, or delivery evidence.

How to use it

  1. Choose whether the rule applies to the account or one mailbox.
  2. Set the conditions and the action for matching messages.
  3. Save and test with a message that should match the rule.

Scope, matching, and actions

Choose Global for all account mailboxes or Mailbox-specific for one address. Name and enable the filter, then choose OR (any rule matches) or AND (all rules match). Actions include discard, redirect, fail with a message, and stop processing rules.

Test with a harmless message that should match and another that should not. A global discard rule or an overly broad OR condition can affect legitimate mail across the account; review scope before saving.
