Local File Backups

Browse file backups stored on this server and choose what to recover.

Where to find it: Open the account, choose Backup or Remote Backup as shown in the account menu, then select Local File Backups.

Available to: The account owner, their reseller or the server administrator. Availability depends on the hosting plan and installed services.

Before you start

Restoring a backup can overwrite newer data. Check the backup date, choose what to restore and make sure there is enough free disk space before starting.

Why use it — and when not to

Use Local File Backups to create, find, inspect, or recover the documented backup scope. Do not start a restore until the point, target, replacement behavior, and customer approval are clear.

How to use it

1. Choose a backup date and browse its files.
2. Select the files or folders to recover and review the destination.
3. Follow the restore and compare the recovered files before using them.

On-demand backups and selective restoration

The account Backup view separates files, database, and mail restore points and offers Create backup now where available. Use an existing completed point to browse and restore only the required items. A queued or running backup is not yet a verified restore point.

For files, choose the intended original or alternative destination, then follow progress to completion. For mail/MySQL, see the selective restore guide. Verify restored files, ownership, and the application before deleting the source backup.

Result and next check

Wait for the job to finish and check its final status. After a restore, open the affected website, mailbox or database to confirm it works.
