Local File Backups
Local File Backups lists file restore points and lets the account inspect or restore selected content.
Where to find it: Open the account, choose Backup or Remote Backup as shown in the account menu, then select Local File Backups.
Available to: The account user for their own account, plus root or the owning reseller when working inside that account. The item may be hidden when its feature profile or required service is disabled.
What this page does
Use Local File Backups for the selected hosting account. SHM checks role, ownership, feature availability, limits, and target identifiers before it accepts a change.
Before you start
A restore may replace current data. Confirm the restore point, target, scope, free space, customer approval, and what will happen to newer files or records before starting.
Why use it — and when not to
Use Local File Backups to create, find, inspect, or recover the documented backup scope. Do not start a restore until the point, target, replacement behavior, and customer approval are clear.
How to use it
- Open Local File Backups in the correct role and confirm the selected target.
- Review the current values before editing them.
- Change only the fields required for the task and read any confirmation carefully.
- Wait for a final result, then test the affected service or resource.
Result and next check
A successful backup creates a usable restore point; a successful restore replaces or recreates only the selected scope. Do not call a job complete until its final status and the recovered service have both been checked.
