Firewall

Control which network connections can reach or leave your server.

Where to find it: Sign in as root and open Server > Firewall.

Available to: Root only.

Before you start

Security settings can also block legitimate visitors. Start with a narrow rule or monitoring mode where available, then check that normal access still works.

Why use it — and when not to

Use Firewall to reduce a specific, evidenced risk. Avoid broad blocks, global disables, or permanent exceptions when a monitor mode or narrower rule can solve the same problem.

How to use it

1. Check the firewall status and identify the connection you want to allow or block.
2. Open the relevant rule, IP list or port setting.
3. Save or apply the change and test the connection while keeping a working administrator session.

Firewall workspace and operating state

The current tabs are Overview, Access rules, IP lists, Protections, Monitor, Settings, Server IPs, External feeds, and Port restrictions. Protection and Monitor have separate running and at-boot controls.

Export/import manages the firewall configuration. Review an imported policy before applying it and keep a working management connection. Firewall controls network traffic; HTTP Guard controls requests at the web-server layer.
