License
License shows current entitlement state and lets an authorized administrator activate with an install token or request a fresh validation.
Where to find it: SDM sidebar > License.
Available to: root and admin.
What this page does
The page explains whether the installation has valid license material and whether refresh/validation succeeds. License state can affect product operation, but it does not repair DNS, network, or provider configuration.
Before you start
Obtain the install token through the approved Synconix channel and keep it secret. Confirm server time, outbound connectivity, and the licensed installation identity before replacing working material.
Actions and states
- Install Token / Activate: submits new license material; the field is intentionally empty until the operator supplies it.
- Refresh / Validate: requests current validation without inventing a new token.
- Status: shows active, pending, expired, invalid, or service error context and the current material summary safe for display.
Do not place a real token in documentation, chat, screenshots, or audit notes.
Controls and fields
| Control, Field, Or Section | What It Does | What It Affects | Recommended Usage |
|---|---|---|---|
| License information table | Shows license status, product details, add-ons, type, registration data, billing/expiry signals, remote check, and local cache state where available. | Determines whether SDM considers the installation authorized and which features/add-ons are recognized. | Review this before troubleshooting feature availability or update eligibility. |
| Force License Update | Opens a confirmation modal to refresh license validation. | Requests remote validation and updates local cache if successful. | Use after renewal, IP/domain changes, or support instruction. |
| Install Token | Activation token used to activate or replace local license material. | Stores new license material and clears stale cache. | Paste only tokens from Synconix/customer portal and never include real tokens in tickets. |
| Activate License | Saves the install token. | Changes license identity for the installation. | Use during initial activation or licensed ownership change. |
| Close | Dismisses license modals without saving. | Leaves license state unchanged. | Use after reviewing status only. |
Safety notes
- Do not paste real license tokens into tickets, screenshots, or public documentation.
How to use it
- Read current status and message.
- Use Refresh/Validate for a previously working installation.
- Use Activate only with the correct install token for this server.
- Wait for the result and refresh the page.
- If validation fails, preserve the error and verify time/network before replacing material again.
Result and next check
The page reports a valid current license and normal product access. If it does not, the returned validation reason—not repeated token pasting—determines the next step.
