Cloudflare

Cloudflare combines provider integration settings, optional WHMCS registrar automation, domain lifecycle, live zone controls, cache purge, and DNS synchronization.

Where to find it: SDM sidebar > Cloudflare; zone-level actions also appear in DNS Zones and Zone Editor.

Available to: root and admin. Provider credentials and integration defaults should be managed by a trusted administrator.

What this page does

The page first configures the shared provider connection, then lists domains using Cloudflare and opens one domain's safe live controls. Local PowerDNS remains SDM's managed source; provider jobs synchronize the intended state and record audit events.

Before you start

Prepare a Cloudflare Account ID and scoped API token, understand the desired proxy policy and zone mode, and confirm registrar access. For WHMCS automation, prepare its API URL, identifier, secret, and at least two default nameservers or valid WHMCS DefaultNameserver1–5 values.

Integration settings

Test Connection verifies Cloudflare; Test WHMCS verifies the registrar integration; Save stores the configuration. Passing a test does not move a domain.

Domain manager

The domain table supports search and 20, 50, 100, or all rows. It shows domain, provider status, nameservers, last activity, and actions. Manage opens these live controls:

  • Development Mode: on or off.
  • Security Level: essentially_off, low, medium, high, or under_attack.
  • Cache Level: basic, simplified, or aggressive.
  • Always Online: on or off.
  • Brotli: on or off.

Live controls pause when public delegation does not match the Cloudflare-assigned nameservers. Disable sets the desired provider to local, deletes the Cloudflare zone after exact-domain confirmation, and restores WHMCS default nameservers when automation applies.

How to use it

  1. Configure and save the integration; run both connection tests when WHMCS is enabled.
  2. Enable Cloudflare for one controlled domain.
  3. Copy the assigned nameservers and update registrar delegation, automatically through validated WHMCS or manually.
  4. Wait for delegation match, then synchronize records and use live settings.
  5. Before disablement, plan the return to local nameservers, type the exact domain, and verify public delegation afterward.

Result and next check

The domain's desired and active provider agree, records are synchronized, public delegation matches the assigned nameservers, and live settings report their actual values. See Public API for the same customer-callable domain workflow.
