Core DNS Operations

Core DNS Operations groups the pages used to inspect and change authoritative DNS, DNSSEC, Cloudflare state, and integration activity.

Available to: All authenticated roles for their permitted DNS scope; root/admin own provider-wide controls.

What this page does

This section follows the normal DNS path: start with overall state, find a zone, edit records, handle signing or provider behavior only when needed, and then verify the sender and result.

Before you start

Know the exact zone, expected owner, current nameservers, active provider, and approved change. A record edit, DNSSEC change, and provider migration are different operations and should not be combined casually.

Operation map

• Dashboard: deployment and health summary.
• DNS Zones: inventory, filters, ownership, provider and zone actions.
• Zone Editor: record-level fields and mutations.
• DNSSEC: signing, DS publication, rollover, and safe disablement.
• Cloudflare: integration, domain lifecycle, live settings, and provider synchronization.
• DNS API Sources: successful external sender activity.
• Login and Session: the browser identity protecting these actions.

How to use it

1. Read Dashboard.
2. Find the zone and confirm owner/provider.
3. Open the record or feature-specific page.
4. Make one approved change.
5. Refresh SDM, inspect Audit where appropriate, and verify authoritative/public DNS.

Result and next check

The change is attached to the correct zone, owner, provider, and verification method. If not, stop at the first mismatched layer rather than adding compensating DNS records.
