What is Synconix ?

Synconix is an All in one Backup Manager from where you can create and manage your entire backup network. With Synconix you can backup your production critical data and review or retrieve it on the fly with just a few clicks.

Synconix will be installed on my private server?

You don't need to worry about privacy or security, Synconix is a self-hosted platform giving you complete control over your installation and network data. The installation process will automatically install all the dependencies that Synconix needs in order to function.

Is Synconix offering support ?

Yes, support is included and please don't hesitate to open a support ticket whenever you have a question.

What are the server requirements for installing Synconix?

What Linux distributions can I backup ?

We have tested Synconix on the most popular Linux distributions, like : Redhat , CentOS , CloudLinux , Oracle Linux , Ubuntu , Debian , Fedora , Suse Linux and also on BSD ( FreeBSD ).

Will Synconix affect in any way my production server or storage server ?

NO. Synconix will not re-compile your system , it will not affect your kernel or your disks partitioning array. It will use only basic and already available utilities like: libacl , perl , screen , gcc , sudo , curl , expect , base64 , ssh

What type of storage server I need to use ?

You don't need a special type , you can backup your production servers data basically on any Linux server. We have tested the storage servers on the following Linux distributions: Redhat , CentOS , CloudLinux , Oracle Linux , Ubuntu , Debian , Fedora , Suse Linux and also on BSD ( FreeBSD )

Can I backup MySQL , MariaDB or any other MySQL fork ?

Yes, on Synconix backup manager you can create custom schedules and enable MySQL backup. The only requirement is that the server to have installed the mysqldump utility.

Can I create individual users for my team or customers ?

Yes, on Synconix backup manager you can create additional Users and custom Roles. You can limit the user to manage only a specified list of production or storage servers.
